Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Lee is safely home from his trip to Peru (he actually got home last week). He had a wonderful trip! It would obviously be better to let him tell you about it....and I am sure I did not pick his favorite pictures, but because I do the blogging, here are some of my favorite. :)

This is Lee speaking to one of the local pastors.

I loved this picture....

A baptism they got to watch....

Getting ready to play "over/under."

Their whole team, including the translators.

Thank you to those that prayed for their trip!

Liza Lately

Maybe I am just bored with Lee being out of town, but I thought I would post some of what Liza has been up to lately....things she does, etc.

These first 2 pictures would best be seen as a video.....let your eyes go back and forth, back and forth between them, and then you will see what she is doing. She makes the "Indian" sound only she is using the back of her hand and wrist. She flops that hand back and forth, and it just cracks me up. The funny thing is, she usually only does it when getting sleepy....and it has a way of making her laugh, too. :)

Cutie....

She loves to play dress up right now.....except she can't actually get the clothes all the way on....and the dress up clothes she uses are her filthy ones out of her dirty clothes hamper. She takes them all out....they go all over her floor....but amazingly, she also loves to clean them up and put them back into the hamper! She sorta looks like a little old lady in this picture.....

Headless Liza....
Ummm....so is this why experts say not to allow kids to sleep with blankets??? :) I found her sleeping like this early one morning when I went in for a peek.....I assure you I first checked for breathing, then got the camera, then removed the blanket before leaving her in peace to continue snoozing.

This is Liza's new favorite spot in our house. There are 2 steps going from the kitchen to her playroom area. The sad thing is, she discovered this as her favorite place to sit because of my introduction of it as her time out spot! I now know why she cracked up through the first 2 times we tried time out......she loves to sit there! :) (Well, that and the fact that I think my child is going to be one of those that time out just doesn't work for.....we are going to have to get tough.) ;) Learning to walk has brought toddler-hood on full force!!! Is there such a thing as the terrible ones??? :)

Anyway.....these are my absolute favorite videos of her....I love that she loves books so much (call it the teacher in me....but I desperately want my children to develop a love for reading that sticks with them). She does this allllll the time right now. I could take a million videos of her doing this, but they would all look about the same. The only thing I love more than watching her do this, is when she brings the book to me, and backs up into my lap to cuddle and read! Speaking of backing up....be sure to get a good look at those juicy legs! :) Not really sure where the bottoms to her outfit went that day.... :)

My Man

So, last Saturday we began our day perfectly. Liza slept until 8 and even though we both were up before then, we stayed in bed and just enjoyed the fact that it was Saturday and we could. Once Liza woke up, I grabbed some milk and her and all 3 of us jumped back in bed together. We giggled and played for about an hour.....yes, it was a scene that every middle school girl dreams of......her dream man and dream daughter.....everyone in love.....get the picture? So....sometime after we finally got up and had breakfast, and then played outside for a while, my pregnancy hormones must have set in. :)

That is when Lee decided to go outside to do some yard work.

A few moments of me scuffling around and trying to justify the onset of my snappiness in my head, but really knowing it was not called for and knowing I needed to go apologize.....after all, I had ruined our perfect morning....I heard the blower sound turn into a chain saw sound.

This is what I found:

Now, this picture does not really do the tree justice. This picture looks like it was a little twig of a tree...and while it was not the biggest tree in our yard, it definitely was not a twig.

I had to laugh out loud over the fact that my snappiness drove him to cut a tree down. My man. I love it.

"...a quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping." Proverbs 19:13

ouch. :)

On a more serious note about my man:
Lee is leaving Friday for a mission trip to Peru. He will be gone Friday through the following Sunday. I would love to ask all my family and friends that read this (which in reality it is probably just our 2 moms....) to please be in prayer for him. This is his 2nd time to go to this area, and he is thrilled to reconnect with the people that touched him so much last year. Last year, his group went to help teach the local pastors of the area basically how to pastor a church. Lee ended up falling in love with the children....and he also noticed that the children were either ignored or seen as "in the way" during worship time. So, this trip is targeted towards helping the local churches learn ways to incorporate children. They want to help the adults that are believers understand the importance of raising up the next generation. Also, in addition to all of this, they will of course be hoping to reach some of the lost in the area as well.

Please pray for the pastors and adults to have open hearts towards all of this....and pray for the children that they will be working with. Also, please pray for Lee as he is the team leader of this trip. I have full confidence that (just as he handles my "snappiness" in a calm and wise way), he will wisely handle any decision making that arises. Pray for him to have a clear vision for this trip and to be sensitive to the Spirit and how He is leading the whole week.

Thanks for reading this super long and mostly super silly entry! :)

HAPPY 4TH!

Happy 4th of July! We enjoyed our holiday at the pool for lunch...and then we had a few friends over to cook-out later in the afternoon. It was a fun day!

Libby Holloway, Grayson Orr, and Liza

If I could narrate this picture it would go something like this:
Libby: "Oh I do hope he picks me!"
Grayson: "2 older ladies.....happy 4th to me!"
Liza: "I'm just gonna chill in this corner and play hard to get."

June Wrap-Up!

The last week of June was filled with guests for us! First, Steven and Melanie Rankin, and their girls, Avery and Ella Grace came to visit. Steven was one of Lee's best friends from college....and it was actually at their wedding where Lee first swept me off my feet..... :) We had so much fun getting to see them and be around their precious girls! Liza was in heaven being with some big girls and having playmates staying at her house!!! We had fun going out to eat (even though Liza went crazy....), going to Lane Packing (a peach packing plant) to eat lunch and play, and going to the pool. Steven and Lee even got to play some golf while all the girls went shopping! :)

Looking for Sam...

Swinging girls....

Cooling down after playing outside with some ice cream!
Beautiful Avery!

Red-faced Liza....

Sweet Ella Grace....couldn't you just eat her right up with that ice cream???

Getting wet outside....

Getting clean inside...
Rub-a-dub-dub......3 little girls in a tub....

On Thursday, Mr. Billy and Mrs. Sally came to town for a visit. We spent the weekend just having some good quality time together.....and, of course, Lee and his dad had a couple projects going. We went out to eat Thursday night (and Liza was a terror again....I really think restaurants are over for us for a while!). :) Friday night Lee grilled some steaks for us and Mr. Billy's sister and brother in law came over from Madison, GA to eat with us. (Uncle Lester and Aunt Lynda). Then, on Saturday night, Mrs. Sally did her magic in the kitchen and cooked fresh vegetables from their garden that they picked right before they came. We had some friends over to enjoy the food with us....I think Ben Hobbs could kiss Mrs. Sally he loves it so much. :) It was a fun weekend with MeMe and PapPaw!

Playing with Aunt Lynda...

I love my MeMe!

Mr. Billy's project for the weekend.....He cleaned it up, painted it, distressed it, waxed it.....didn't it turn out great?!? :) (We are getting a piece of glass cut for the left door).

Last Event in June: My baby shower for Will! My sweet friends insisted on giving me a shower even though they all just gave me one a short year ago for Liza! :) It was very special and lots of fun. It was a smaller, more intimate shower, and I got lots of precious boy stuff! :) Thank goodness Will won't have to do everything in pink! :) Thanks so much girls....it meant so much to me!

Sarah, Megan, Me, Kim, and Stephanie. All the hostess' (not including Angela who couldn't make it). Sarah and Megan took more pictures.....I will post those when I get them! :)
